Q: How does AutoCam differ from other screenshot utilities?
A: AutoCam provides professional features with flexibility when documenting your device. Besides taking screenshots, AutoCam offers many extra features, like the floating cam icon for easy access, automatic shot mode, image file listing and management, full-screen image viewer, furthermore a rich set of configuration options. If you want more than just saving screenshots, you need AutoCam!

Screenshots

Q: How do I take a screenshot?
A: Start up AutoCam, then use your phone normally and bring it to the state that you want to document. Press the Camera key (or the other hotkey that you have set in Preferences/Trigger). The newly made screenshot will be listed in the main view next time when you bring AutoCam to the foreground.

Q: Can I use AutoCam without sacrificing a hotkey?
A: Yes. AutoCam features a floating camera icon which is always visible on the screen. Tap on the cam icon to take a screenshot.

Q: Can AutoCam take several screenshots automatically?
A: Yes. In Preferences/Trigger set the number of automatic shots to be made as well as the time interval between them. In the main view press the Start Auto button on the toolbar. AutoCam goes to background and lets you use the phone normally between screenshots. When the last picture is done, the AutoCam screen is displayed again. To stop automatic shots at any time, bring the program to foreground and press the Stop Auto toolbar button.

Q: Why did AutoCam stop saving new screenshots?
A: AutoCam protects your phone by preventing you from using up all disk space. This is especially useful when taking a number of automatic screenshots. When disk space is under a safe threshold value, AutoCam displays a low disk space warning, and stops saving new screenshots. To allow taking more screenshots, delete files from your device or specify a different Save location in Preferences/Image.

Q: Why do I see a gray bar with text on all my screenshots?
A: It is only displayed by the trial version of AutoCam. To remove the bar, register your software.

Configuration

Q: How to move the cam icon to another place?
A: Just drag it using the stylus to the desired screen location.

Q: Where are the image files I created?
A: AutoCam saves the image files in a Media files\image\Screenshot directory on the drive that you selected as the Save location in Preferences/Image.

Q: How can I give a different name for my screenshots?
A: In Preferences/Image set File naming to User-defined, then enter a File name base. New files will be created with that name and a unique running number. To rename individual image files, bring up the Info dialog and change the displayed name.

Miscellaneous

Q: What picture is shown on the main view?
