Purpose
Flip Calculator is a simple math calculator designed for convenient one-handed operation with closed flip.
The flip keypad is used to input both digits and functions.
Math functions are accessed by holding down the assigned keys,
aided by the on-screen key map for easy visual reference.

Compatibility
Flip Calculator can be executed on smartphones running on Symbian 7.0 with UIQ 2.0 or higher.
Full functionality of the program requires a physical or virtual flip keypad.
Fully compatible handsets include the SonyEricsson P910, P900 and P800 phones.

Installation
Decompress the downloaded distribution package.
Refer to the readme.txt file for any instruction specific to the version downloaded.
The Flip Calculator installation file, FCalcXXX.sis, can be installed from the PC or the phone
by the usual manners (refer to your phone's User Guide for details).

Display panel
The upper part of the screen displays the current input and the results of calculations.
Indicators on the left side show the current operation (+-*/), stored memory availability (M),
and the error condition (E).
Colors for the display panel can be changed in Preferences/Display.
Key map
The lower part of the screen shows how digits and functions are mapped to the
physical flip keypad buttons on your device.
Digits and functions assigned to keys are shown by color codes.
Blue is for short keypress, used for digit input, clearing and menus.
Green is for long keypress, used for entering math functions.
White is unused, but visible on the device buttons.
While pressing keys, the activated digit or function is marked by yellow color.
Function sets
Math functions are accessed by holding down for about half a second the key marked in green with the respective function.
Function sets can be switched by turning the jog dial.
Available function sets include Common and Trigonometric.
Results for the trigonometric functions are shown in degrees.

Display on P800
Appearance on the P800 slightly differs from the above, due to the smaller display area.
Screen title is not shown, and the key map is compressed.

Main menu
The Main menu is invoked by pressing the key labeled as 'Off' on the key map.
Selectable items are:
- Help: Display a brief description of program usage.
- About: Display program information.
- Background: Stop displaying Flip Calculator on the screen (the program still stays in memory).
- Exit: Leave the program completely.
- Applications: Display a list of available flip closed applications.

Memory menu
The Memory menu is invoked by pressing the key labeled as 'M' on the key map.
Selectable items are:
- M Restore the previously stored number to the display panel.
- M Store the currently displayed number.
- M Clear the stored number.
- Copy the currently displayed number for pasting into applications.
- Paste a number (copied in another application) to the display panel.

Preferences - Display
The Preferences dialog can be accessed by launching the program with open flip,
or by opening the flip when the Help or About screen is displayed.
Use the provided settings to customize the appearance of the calculator display.
- Screen part: Select the screen element (Display panel or Key map) you wish to alter.
- Display item: Select the item whose color you want to change.
- Item color: Choose a color for the item selected above.
- Button flash: Check the box to flash the full keymap button on keypresses.

Preferences - Other
The second tab of the Preferences dialog provides the following controls:
- Launch Calculator at flip open: When checked, the standard Calculator application will appear when
the flip is opened with Flip Calculator in the foreground.
- Warning messages: When checked, warning and information messages are displayed.
- About: Display program information.
- Exit: Leave the program.
The Default button reverts all settings to original values.
