Purpose
Flip Extender allows running all programs on SonyEricsson smartphones while the flip keypad is closed. Scrolling provides access to the whole application interface including screen areas covered by the flip. Multitap text input and use of the touch screen are supported. With Flip Extender you can fully utilize the handset in a compact and private fashion. You are not restricted any more to those few programs that support flip closed mode. Depending on your conditions and habits, Flip Extender can dramatically increase the usability of your P-series phone.

Compatibility
Flip Extender can be installed on SonyEricsson smartphones running on Symbian 7.0 with UIQ 2.0 or higher. Compatible handsets include the SonyEricsson P910, P900 and P800 phones.

Installation
Decompress the downloaded distribution package. Refer to the readme.txt file for any instruction specific to the version downloaded. The Flip Extender installation file, FlipExtXXX.sis, can be installed from the PC or the phone by the usual manners (refer to your phone's User Guide for details).

Flip open view
When running Flip Extender with the flip open, the main view is displayed where you can customize the program's behavior.

- Touch screen: Set the option to use the touch screen in VF open mode.
- Scroll key: Select the key used for scrolling the screen to "under the flip".

Virtual flip use
Hold down the assigned VF hotkey for about one second to open or close the virtual flip. The default application for the current virtual flip mode appears. In VF open mode you can use all programs that are normally accessible only with the physical flip open or removed. The touch screen can be enabled permanently from the flip open main view or temporarily from the Control menu.

Scrolling
Pressing the assigned Scroll key lets you see screen parts normally covered by the flip, without actually opening it. Press the Scroll key again to scroll back to the top of the screen.

In VF open mode the flip keypad keys and other hardware buttons provide a mixture of their normal flip open and closed behavior.
